GAME SUMMARY

A game that was never really in our control until the 6th innings. The opposing pitcher was one of those rinky-dink little curve ball pitchers who our National Junior Australian teams have consistently struggled against the past few years.

It took until the 5th innings for the boys to make an adjustment to their batting when McConnon, Tols and Kandilas all hit safely to bring in one run. Then in the 6th, a good at bat by Atherton and clutch hitting by Lennox and Roe scored a further 2 runs. Tols led off the 7th with a hit, followed by a Kandilas hit and then they both scored on an Atherton line drive.

McConnon had his best game so far with the bat and Kandilas, Lennox, Atherton and Lennox all hit well under pressure late in the game.

The game’s MVP was Josh Tols who celebrated his 18th birthday with 2 hits with the bat, and 6Ks in his 3 innings of pitching.
